HI to PBHS class of "60. Graduated FSU. I lived for a number of years in DC, moved with my husband to NJ. [he was an atty for a pharmaceutical] Had 2 daughters, went to grad school and received an MSW. Worked in the childwelfare field as well as HR administration. We retired in 2004 and moved to LA to be near one daughter and her family. Have one granddaughter and one on the way. My husband passed away about 2 1/2 years ago, so went [going] through that adjustment. Otherwise, doing fine. The weather here is great, but the Pacific is too cold. [I miss those days on Singer Island] Deanna

Hi Deanna. I'm Richard Burrer from the class of '53. I was just browsing through the members list and noticed we are not far apart. My wife and I live in Camarillo now for almost 27 years coming from W. Los Angeles. Dudly Cole (B.D. Cole Insurance - WPB) John Murphy (Murphy Constr. - WPB) and I drove to Santa Monica in July of 1956. They returned and I stayed and never regretted that decision. There are several '53 alumni's living in So. Cal. Anyway, always good to read about a PBHS alumni. Richard
I didn't lose a step even though I spent 4 years in Gainesville, Fl. I still remember so many things that we did at Military Trail school...May Day rapping the pole, under over, under over, planting small trees,if you had Mrs. Growder(???) for the 4th grade, Mrs. Rutter would open the door that joined the 2 rooms and paddle someone in front of both classes, being one of the school patrol person, I could go on and on. It's not to late to cancel your vac. and come to the 50th. Time is ticking fast on us. Kaye Fullwoods mother has a summer home here in Blairsville, Ga. and I will pick Kaye up and take her to Franklin, NC to have lunch with other classmates. Come on, do it !! Are you on Facebook?
I came to Mrs. Lays classin the middle of the school year the other portion was at Palmetto Ele... then we moved out west... 2nd grade Mrs. Callaway... 3rd Mrs. Mitchell... 4th Mrs. Gowdy(spelling??)... 5th Mrs. Nation and 6th Mrs. Humpries... Mrs. Lay lived just a few blocks north on Military Trail in a small yellow hse. same side of the road as the school... at one time i had that little book with her pic. on the cover... thur the years when my dad was transfered to Gainesville, Fl. during the 7th grade, we stayed there until the middle of my 10th grade in which we came back to WPB. What a whirlwind. Darn I still wish you could come.
Welcome to the website...from the third grade on I can still see you tap dancing for our class followed by Ronald Gemple and his HOWDY DOODY pupet. "ME", I had no talent, but was always the teachers pet. In our 6th grade class pic, Mrs. Humpries had me stand beside her and Patricia Lee on the other side. I sooo wish you could make the 50th. Would love to see you in person. Get some pics on your page. I have since learned that Lois Stone Wiley also was a tap dancer. Pam Ketter Browning knows a bit more about that than me.
