Saw you in a lot of pictures from the reunion. You are really looking good. I wanted to tell you what a beautiful family you have. It sounds as though there are quite a few of you living in N. C. My daughter and her family live in Oak Ridge. If anyone decides to have a mini reunion in N.C., let me know. We are long overdue in visiting N.C. I have 4 children and 10 and one on the way grandchildren. They are what keep me going as any parent and grandparent knows.
Hugh: Sorry I haven't replied until now. I do a lot of corp. consulting work and should not be as busy as I am. You look as lanky as ever. Good looking family! Hope to see you at the reunion next year in West Palm. My main home is at Mill Creek Country Club in Franklin,NC so I should be able to make it to the next mini reunion. You and yours take care. Buddy Cure
Good to see you; pray that all is well with you. My brother lives in Murphy, NC, our son lives in Atlanta, and our daughter has recently moved to Murfreesboro, Tenn. We are usually up that way about every other month.
Just retired from teaching this year and will tutor math when in town.
We actually are trying to sell and move up to Murfreesboro, Tenn.
We really like it up that way. Maybe we can make one of the mini retunions in Blairsville, Georgia.
Hugh Brady, I have look and look at your page and your name did not click in my brain. It is unusal for me, not to recognize faces or remembering names. I am so glad that you asked to be friends. I remember you very well. Matter a fact you and I were sitting beside each other on the football team pic, you were a soph. and I was a junior. This was in the ' 59 year book. You have classmates that live within Blairsville, GA. and the surrounding area. We have been having what we call mini reunion though-out the year. Our last time we met was a couple of months ago, Kay Anderson, Peggy Baldwin, Janet Rang, Harvey Holden, Glenn Galloway and Alexis Feldmann had a last minute problem. There were those from your class and about 10 from my class as well as a couple from' 59 to so up. We have had mini's in the upper Atlanta area. We meet at Franklin, NC. We are going to meet in Franklin sometime between Oct. 22nd and the 26th. Waiting on some who are coming up from Fl. and visiting classmates in this area. From where you live it would be a log distance to come to Franklin, however my home is always open for friends. We have plenty of room for guest up stairs. " By the way #4 hasn't retired yet."
Yes, finally retired for good.I can't be like number 4 of the Vikings.
Carolina Beach is about 120 miles down I-40. It usually take me about 2 and 1/2 hours, depending on traffic. My golf game is about shot. Over the past two years I have had two rotator-cuff surgeries and need one more. Golf is just something I enjoy. I might be a 16 hdcp. From your picture I see you have a boat. I have a 23ft. sitting in the water at my back door. Would love to visit and recap the high school days ( really were the good old days) I guess we don't know how lucky we were in the late 50's and early 60's. I think you forgot what a pile of junk my Plymouth was, it just looked good because I sanded it down and dad had one of his friends to paint it. Wouldn't it be fun if we could get the classmates within 200 miles or so together and have a mini reunion here in NC.
Lets us get together. I am trying to catch up with Glenn Galloway, maybe the three of could rally somewhere.
You are very welcome. They were very happy to hear from you. Mom was also quite interested in hearing how you and your family are doing. She doesn't use the computer, or I am sure you would have heard from her also!
Yes, you have the right family. It's been a long time! My Dad died in 1969. My Mom, age 91, lives in Palm Beach Gardens and is doing just great. Joan and her husband live in Jupiter. Her daughter, Kelly, and her husband and two children live in Jupiter. Sue and her second husband, Jack, live in Dillon, Colorado. One of her two sons, Chad and his wife and two children live in WPB.
Jim and I have a daughter who lives in Seattle. I have two stepdaughters who live in Austin.
How about your family? Are Pat and Debby living in Florida? How about your folks?
Whenever we three are at home together, we take a drive down Cranesnest and around the Norton Art Gallery. Lots of memories but it has changed quite a bit. I fully expect that the houses on Cranesnest will disappear at some point in time to make room for more Norton development. I understand that "the dark street", Mango Promenade has been made some kind of historical area, so it will probably stay put.
