George: thanks for contacting my brother, Bob. He mentioned that yuour brother, Jack, now lives in the Crystal River area. That area is of interest to me. Can you provide Jack's contact info so that I can ask him some questions about the area? Also, did you know my favorite teacher . D.J. Buetenmiller (spelling may not be quite right)? Take care. Jack Ackert
Aloha! Yes, Bob is my younger brother. He currently resides in Keystone Heights, florida and you can reach him at firstname.lastname@example.org. FYI: My wife (Akemi) and I have lived here in Hawaii for the past 20 years. Our son, Andrew, just received his BS in Physis from FSU and will be returning there to start work on his PH.D. in High energy/partile Physics in August.
I remember your brother Jack very well. He was one of my brothers closest friends. Keep in touch.
Hi Thumper, Yes I remember Gator Growl. I even considered saying something about it when I posted, but being a loyal Seminole, its difficult for me to say anything nice related to the Gators. :) Also running through my mind was the trip to Orange Bowl Parade Senior year and the fact senior band members got to go to the Navy vs Missouri game the next day. My first College football game live! So sad that I won't make the reunion. But will think about everyone while I'm out there in the Rockies of Utah, Montana, and Wyoming hopefully enjoying cool air and the National Parks.
Hi George, I don't use social networks - I spend most of my time researching in number theory. I do have a WORD file with a list of publications & acknowledgements that I could forward you if you would want to put it in some type of format. I meant , or maybe did already, send a copy to Bobbie Nell Pagan Hartley. I'm leaving my library & any net worth for a Lectureship in the math & sciences to Macalester College in St. Paul, MN. I have well over 3000 titles in these subjects to leave them. I also have a favorite poem that I plan to have read at my funeral which says it all titled, "In Praise of a Contented Mind" that I could also forward. I'm also roud of a picture of myself with Stephen Hawking that was taken in 1995 after his lectutre at the Buelle Theater in Denver. My best feature, next to my nose, is I still have all my hair & a decent sense of humor. If I can't make it to the Reunion, play a Diana Krall song for me, Jim.
Thanks for your New Years message, Thumper, and I wish you and Merrie Lee much joy in the year ahead. If anyone hasn't said it lately - we ALL appreciate your hard work in creating and maintaining this terrific site. You've done a great job and we thank you!!
I looked at the 92 photos that are up so far and thanks so much for helping us get them out to everyone - but mine aren't in there yet. It was great to see you guys again, and we look forward to getting together again when you visit North Georgia.
Jim is in Thurmond, Md. right now for a funeral but I know he will make a reunion happen when you get here. He does it whenever he knows someone is in the area from down south. I'll have him contact you when he gets home Wed. or Thur.
George, Very nice to hear from you. Hope you are well and happy.
No I'm not in town at present. That photo is of the Intracoastal in front of our Florida house. Paa-Ko gets a lot more snow than Albuquerque but this winter has been brutal for us. Glad to have 4-wheel drive. Dan
George, how do we get my name off of the group leader for the class of 1963? My wife Sandy Smith Grantham was suppose to be the group leader for her class. How do you even get Sandy to sign in and join? We only have one email address, is that the problem? I take it that two people can not join under the same email address. We need some answers from you.
Thanks, james e grantham(and Sandy Smith)
Well George, eeks I can't remember. Sorry. I have been so out of touch for so long. We are coming to Fl (Port St. Lucie) for month of April. Give me a chance to get out of this cold weather. Did you go to Washington DC with my brother. I have a copy of the picture that was taken. I gave the original to Don Weeks to put in the PBHS Museum. That was a long time ago. Will try and post a photo.
I just realized I commented to myself.... I will get the hang of this. Where did you live? Yes Bill was my brother. Unfortunately he was killed in car accident in 1965. He had two daughters who live in California. How did you know him from band? I was also in the band playing the oboe and was majorette for 3 years. Such fun memories and now have my granddaughter playing in her high school band and that really brings it all back. Nice to be in touch once again.
Sure, I remember you from the trombone section of the band. I just found out about this website, and I'm delighted to be renewing acquaintances with former classmates. I'm retired and in NJ now, but I do still occasionally get back to WPB. The Thursday PBHS breakfasts sound like fun. How many people generally attend?
